From Diamond Head

These are pictures that I took while hiking up Diamond Head and on top of Diamond Head.

When we arrived in Honolulu and finally reached our hotel Dad did not want to drive to Diamond so we took the bus. What we did not know was that you had to walk a mile from where the bus drops you off to where you can actually begin your hike up Diamond Head.

This is a lovely lighthouse that I saw while climbing Diamond head. Sorry for the poor photo quality.
View of the city.
Honolulu

Honolulu and WakikiHonolulu is a gorgeous city. Architecture and the Ocean.

Well...it certainly sounds like all y'all got your exercise that day!

I'm amazed at how much Honolulu has changed (as in: wall-to-wall hotels on the beach) since I visited. And no, I'm NOT gonna betray my age by telling you when that visit occurred.

The earth was still cooling, tho, if that helps. ;-)

Lovely pictures, as usual. Some of them remind me of the view from the top of Mt. Vesuvius in Italy. Not so many high rises though.

Buck: My parents went 10 years ago and from their pictures it has changed so much in just 10 years. I can't imagine how much it has changed since you were there during the ice age. ;) Sorry it was just too good to resist. You started it though! You crack me up!

I don't think of big city when I think of Hawaii.

Hey, bring any paintings that you want to put in the floral show today.

Lou: Me either but it has one of the biggest cities in the U.S.

A mile walk to start the hike up? Yikes.

If I had seen these city pics anywhere else, I wouldn't have guessed Hawaii! Now I know!
