Mauna Kea

These pictures were taken flying from Hilo to Honolulu. We did not see the mountains while staying on the Big Island. The vog from the volcano covered them. Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the world . It starts at the ocean floor. Mauna Kea is not taller than Mt. Everest in land heights. But height starting from the ocean floor it is. There is much debate about that matter.

You can see the observatory on the top of it. All the street lights on the Big Island are yellow. It cut out some of the light so that the astronomers. The yellow lights make color turn black and white. I found that interesting.
Mauna Kea is the mountain in the fore ground and Mauna Loa is behind it.

Next will come Honolulu!

I don't have lot to say about this. It was across from Coconut Island in Hilo.

It Rained On My Parade!

Well my plans for the forth fizzled! I had plans to go up to Bricktown, go tow a baseball game and see the fireworks afterward. But I just had to get sick. So I stayed home. I figured sitting in the hot sun for hours would not do my cold any good! So I spent my forth doing absolutely nothing.

On a side note posting will be light until I am better. Commenting will be too.

It's A Dogs World

Here is a little break from Hawaii. As you will soon find out from these pictures that my dogs are spoiled . But if you are going to have a dog you might as well love it. Right? Chandler is hiding.

Xena under my desk. For some unexplained reason she love to sleep under my desk. She also likes to unplug my computer! Which really annoys me.

Since I am talking about dogs I will rant about something. I may offend some of my readers but you do come here for my opinions so please bear with me.
I can't stand it when people dress up their dog or cat and say that the poor animal enjoys it. I am not talking about play dressing it up. I am talking about dog wardrobes, turtle necks, polo shirts, and sunglasses. Dogs don't need a wardrobe. They have a thing called FUR that keeps them warm. I will admit that some dogs may need a coat if they live in cold weather with short hair. But a wardrobe! Come on! I get a magazine that has any thing from dog pj's to evening dresses. It makes me laugh. But I feel sorry for any dog that had to wear pj's!

Hilo Farmers Market

The Hilo Farmers Market.I thought these guys were funny.

I loved the farmers market. You can buy fruits and veggies to cooked food.
A man sold salsa that was AMAZING! Another man sold hummus yum! I loved the farmers market. I wish we had one like it here.
